The college places a lot of emphasis
on grooming its students through various extra curricular activities conducted
through various cells, clubs and the subject societies. Student Talent Search
Programs have been initiated and students are now actively participating in
inter-college contests and youth festivals because of this program. Through wide-ranging events like debates, panel discussions, extension
lectures, musical rendezvous, theatre, dance items, and many more activities
students explore their passions and multidimensional interests, and grow
together in an environment of mutual collaboration, respect and trust. The
following extra-curricular activities were conducted during the academic
session 2021-22.
ACTIVITIES GCG NACHOLI: 2021-22
· The 72nd Van
Mahotsav Day was celebrated online, and the college fraternity joined the
Hon’ble Chief minister Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar in the state wide tree
plantation drive.
· National Library
Day was celebrated to honour the father of Library and Information Sciences,
Dr. S. R. Ranganathan with a Tree Plantation drive in the campus.
· An online essay
writing competition on ‘Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat’ and a slogan writing competition
was organised to celebrate the Independence Day on 15th August.
· A Covid
vaccination camp was organized by the institution on 3rd September 2021 as part
of our social responsibility towards the community.
· Celebrated Hindi
Diwas on 14th September 2021.
· International
Youth Day was celebrated on September 16, 2022.
· Keeping up the
spirit of the World Car Free Day our institution joined the state government
effort to bike or walk to the college on 22nd September 2021.
· NSS day was
celebrated on 24th september 2021 with a huge rally to ban the use of
Polythene.
· Poshan Mah, a
month-long program was celebrated under the aegis of Ministry of Women and
Child Welfare to make the students aware of nutritional benefits of good and
healthy food all through the month of September by the Women Cell. A rapid-fire
quiz on Healthy Food and Healthy Eating Habits, a poster
making and slogan writing competition on the theme Bhojan Se
Poshan were some events organized under Poshan Mah.
· Gandhi Jayanti
was celebrated on 2nd October with a Quiz on Bapu, his thoughts
and his actions.
· The UN Day was
celebrated in the college on 24th October and a Quiz on the
United Nations was attempted by the students of the college.
· Rashtriya Ekta
Diwas was celebrated on 31st October 2022 under the campaign EK Bharat Shreshth
Bharat.
· Constitution Day
was celebrated in the college on 26th November with great vigor and enthusiasm
in the college compound. On this occasion, the students read out the Preamble
to the Constitution and took a pledge to uphold the unity and integrity of the
country.
· 7 students of
the college participated for the first time in the Zonal-Youth Festival in the
month of December, 2021 and bagged 4 prizes in Rangoli (1st Prize),
Punjabi Poetry (2nd Prize), Urdu poetry (2nd Prize),
Slogan (1st Prize).
· A workshop on the role and impact of theatre, street plays, art and art
forms on various social and political issues existing in the society was
conducted on 4th December 2021. The purpose of the workshop was
to bring out fresh perspectives on gender through various conflict situations,
dilemmas, and popular options prevalent in the society.
· A Yoga Workshop was organized in the college campus on 8th December
2021.
· A Fine Arts Workshop was organized from 7th to 9th December
2021 and the girls were trained in various activities like Rangoli, painting,
Poster Making and Clay Modeling.
· An extension lecture on Women’s Legal Rights and Responsibilities was
organized on December 12, 2021. Domestic Violence Act, Dowry Prohibition, Equal
Share in Parental Property etc. were some of the important Acts discussed in
the extension lecture.
· To empower girls with techniques of self-defense and to instill in them a
sense of self-confidence a one-week Self Defense Training was conducted from 20th to
27th December 2021.
· Regular Tree
Plantation Drives were launched in the college to mark the National Library
Day, 72nd State Level Van Mahotsav and the World Environment Day.
· Sports Day was celebrated on 28th and 29th December 2021 and almost 1/3rd of
the college's strength participated in various sporting events.
· National Voters Day was celebrated on 25 January 2022 and an online pledge
was taken by the staff and students to use their right to vote judiciously.
· A 2-day Public Speaking discourse was organized on 24-25 January 2022 for
the students to help them acquire the necessary communication skills much
needed in today’s competitive world.
· Manthan, a Byjus sponsored program on how to qualify for government jobs
was organized on 31 January 2022.
· A lecture on "Career Opportunities in Law after Graduation" was
organized on 1st February 2022.
· The first ever Seven days NSS Camp of the students was organized from 30
March 2022 to 4th April 2022 in which volunteers were given
knowledge about Environment Conservation, Disaster Management, Road safety,
Beti Padhao Beti Bachao campaign, Swachh Bharat Campaign, First Aid, Digital
India, and National Integration with the aim of training them for active
community campaigns.
· An extension lecture on Nutrition and Wellness: Myth Vs Reality was
organized for the students on 7th February 2022.
· On the Occasion of Women’s Day on March 8, 2022, a Human chain was formed
jointly by the students of GCG Nacholi and GCW. Almost 500 students held each
other’s hand to express their solidarity with women around the globe and to
give out a message that each one was to be the other's strength and not
weakness. A google form was also floated for the students seeking their
response to the IDEA OF BEING A WOMAN.
· In the
Inter-Zonal Youth Festival, the first for the college, organized at M.D.
University, Rohtak from 25-27 March 2022, our student bagged the 2nd prize
in Rangoli.
· The first Annual
Function of the college was celebrated on 28th April 2022. The function was a
culmination of the yearlong activities and achievements organized by the
college in the session 2021-22 wherein the award winners and active students
were duly felicitated on stage.
· Various
important Days and dates were recognized and celebrated through rallies, slogan
writing and poster making competitions:
1. World Tobacco
Free Day: 31st May 2021
To inform the public on the dangers of using Tobacco and
Drugs, what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and
healthy living, and to protect future generations from the menace of Tobacco
addiction, a rally was taken out by the students with loud echoes of Say no to
Tobacco.
2. World
Environment Day- 5th June 2022
Staff and students at the college celebrated World
Environment Day on the 5th by planting a variety of fruit trees, ornamental
trees, and shady trees in the college compound.
3. Drug
Free Society: 12-26 June 2022
Addressing drug challenges, International Day against
Drug Abuse was celebrated on 26 June 2022 to strengthen action and cooperation
in achieving a world free of drug abuse. Students and staff joined to raise
awareness about drug abuse through rally and sloganeering.
4. International
Yoga Day: 21st June 2022
Staff and students joined worldwide and nationwide
celebrations to mark the International Yoga Day on the 21st. The college
teachers and students joined the District Administration camp in sector 12 on
the 21st morning.
5. Say
no to Plastic: 30th June and 1st July 2022:
To spread awareness about the single use plastic ban
announced by the government of India from 1st July 2022, a massive rally was
organized to spread awareness about the rapidly increasing levels of plastic
polllution in the country.
The Political Science and History societies together remained active all through the year. Most
activities were conducted online. The students of the 2 departments are common
and participated in the following functions:
● The students participated in an online essay
writing competition on ‘Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat’ and a slogan writing competition
to celebrate the Independence Day on 15th August.
● As a part of the Azaadi ka
Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, a Quiz on the Freedom Movement was organized for
the students.
● Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 2nd October.
Every year the college students celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. This
year too Bapu’s birth anniversary was celebrated with a Quiz on Bapu, his
thoughts and his actions.
● The UN Day was celebrated in
the college on 24th October and a Quiz on the United Nations
was attempted by the students of the college.
● As part of the celebration of
75 years of India’s independence and to commemorate the adoption of our
constitution, Sanvidhan Diwas/Constitution Day was celebrated in the college
campus. On this occasion, the Preamble to the Constitution was read at 11a.m.,
in consonance with the reading of the Preamble in the Parliament house.
● A quiz on Parliamentary
Democracy was conducted for the students on 26 November 2021.
● National Voters Day was
celebrated on 25 January with an online Quiz.
Commerce Department:
The Commerce society engaged its
students in the following activities:
1. Quiz competitions were
organized on :
a) Income Tax and Taxation Laws
b) Consumer Rights and Protection
2. A discussion on “GST and its fall
out on the Indian economy” was conducted by the Commerce society.
3. Students discussed the
implications of Wuhan Virus and the growth prospects of the Indian Economy.
4. A discussion on Atmanirbhar
Bharat and Make in India Campaigns was also held for the students.
