ANNUAL REPORT 2021-2022
GCG Nacholi is a newly established rural
college for girls which started functioning in August 2018. The endeavor of the
Government of Haryana to make higher education accessible to the girl students,
from rural areas, was the driving force behind the setting up of this
college.
A sprawling campus, spread over 12 acres,
equipped with the latest amenities and modern teaching tools like smart
classrooms, air-conditioned digital library, fully equipped laboratories, a
multi-purpose auditorium, a 6-acre sports field and separate offices for
diverse activities are almost ready in the upcoming building at Village
Nacholi. The college offers undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts
(B.A) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and currently has a student strength of
456, up from 93 in the first batch. A teaching Faculty of 8 and non-teaching
staff of 5 is the backbone of this college. We have limited resources and
are short of hands but are never short off energy and vigour to work for the
growth of this institution. Our students too remain involved in various
activities all through the academic year as all college departments provide
automatic membership to them in their societies, clubs, and cells. As a result,
there is always an atmosphere of learning, living and celebration in the
campus.
Sir, it is because of this mutual
collaboration that we are able to organize successfully almost every important
event all around the year. Many events overlap amongst various subject
societies, clubs and cells as the same students and same staff members are
involved in these activities. I take pride in sharing with you a consolidated
report of our achievements and actions during this ongoing academic year
2021-22.
Covid has disrupted the academic
calendar of all educational institutions. We too have been immensely affected
by frequent lock downs and delayed examinations. Although, officially fresh
classes started from September, but we present here our achievements today from
the month of June 2021.
· In the month of June, staff members of the college celebrated World
Environment Day on the 5th by planting variety of fruit trees, ornamental
trees, and shady trees in the college compound. Simultaneously, our students
supported us in this campaign by planting one plant in their vicinity and by
taking an oath to protect the Mother Earth from all kinds of man-made
devastation.
· A state-level Surya Namaskar competition with Mantra Ucharan was organised
by the college to mark the celebration of International Yoga Day on 21st June.
The college received more than hundred entries. Aarti Gehlot from DAV Centenary
College, Faridabad back the first prize Nisha Sharma from GCW Hisar was
adjudged second and Pooja from GCW Faridabad was declared third in the state-level
competition.
· The university semester exams started in July and the next academic session
was pushed to the month of August. An online essay writing competition on ‘Mere
Sapnon Ka Bharat’ and a slogan writing competition was organised to celebrate
our Independence Day on 15th August.
· A Covid vaccination camp was organised by the institution as a part of our
social responsibility towards the community. Around 500 students, teachers and
community members got themselves vaccinated against Covid 19. The program was a
huge success.
· Teachers day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 5th September.
Our gratitude to our students for showering their love and affection on this
day. I would particularly like to share one student’s message to us which said
एक किताब, एक क़लम, एक बच्चा और एक शिक्षक मिलकर दुनिया बदल सकते हैं।
· Poshan Mah a month-long program, celebrated under the aegis of Ministry of
Women and Child Welfare, to make the students aware of nutritional benefits of
good and healthy food was celebrated by the Women Cell all through the month of
September. To mark the celebrations a rapid fire 25 questions quiz on Healthy
Food And Healthy Eating Habits was floated by the coordinator of
the Women Cell. These were to be answered in 10 minutes. We thought we would be
able to arrive at some decision, but every student turned out to be a winner.
Other events which were organised under Poshan Mah were poster making and
slogan writing competitions on the theme Bhojan Se Poshan.
· Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on 2nd October. Every year
the college students celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. This year too
Bapu’s birth anniversary was celebrated with a Quiz on Bapu, his thoughts, and
his actions.
· The UN Day was celebrated in the college on 24th October
and a Quiz on the United Nations was attempted by the students of the college.
· A talent hunt was launched in the college on 17th November.
We were overwhelmed with entries from students eager to showcase their talents
to the college community. As a result, the college today has a rich reservoir
of multi-faceted girls, curious to learn and determined to go out and steal the
show. This was very evident in the zonal and inter-zonal competitions held in
the month of December 2021 and March 2022 respectively.
· Constitution Day was celebrated in the college with
great vigor and enthusiasm in the college compound. On this occasion, the
students read out the Preamble to the Constitution and took a pledge to uphold
the unity and integrity of the country. Besides discussing the making &
evolution of the constitution, the students were reminded about the great
sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the tremendous efforts made by them
to give this country one of the most beautiful, comprehensive and foolproof
legal document to run the nation.
· 7 students of this college
participated for the first time in the Zonal-Youth Festival organized by Pt.
J.L.N. Government College, Faridabad in the month of December, 2021. I
very proudly announce to the audience that in our first ever
participation, our students bagged 4 prizes. While Jaya of B.A.III won the
first prize in Rangoli, and the college bagged the first prize in Slogan
writing, Ananya Saxena of B.Com.I and Priya of B.Com.I won the second
prize in Punjabi and Urdu poetry recitation respectively.
· In the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival organized at M.D. University, Rohtak,
Jaya our final year student bagged the 2nd prize in Rangoli.
This was indeed a proud achievement for our college especially because this was
the first competition, organized at such a huge scale, in which our students
had participated and even got rewarded.
National Voters Day was celebrated on 25 January and an online pledge was
taken by the staff and students to use their right to vote judiciously.
The Women Cell of the college actively worked throughout the

through affirmative action and providing opportunities for further growth. The
following programs and activities were conducted with an aim to provide a
balanced, positive, and energizing environment for the girl students.

theatre, street plays, art and art forms on various social and political issues
prevalent in the society was conducted on 4th December under
the supervision of Dr. Neer Kanwal Mani, Associate Professor,
Department of English, Pt. JLN Govt. College, Faridabad. The purpose of
the workshop was to bring out fresh perspectives on gender through various
gender critical situations, dilemmas, popular options, and analysis.
· A Yoga Workshop was organized in the college campus under the guidance of
college’s own student Shweta who is herself a trained Yoga instructor on the 8th December.
She performed various Aasanas of benefit in everyday
life and also talked about healthy food choices. The program was successful in its objective that Yoga and
Meditation should be made an integral part of our daily routine.
· A Fine Arts Workshop was held by the women cell from 7th to
9th December and the girls were trained in various activities
like Rangoli, painting, Poster Making and Clay Modelling keeping in mind the
oncoming youth festival. The response to this workshop was very encouraging.

Cell as it genuinely helps to empower girls with techniques of self-defense and
instils in them a sense of self-confidence. Sensei Ram Bhandari coached 75
girls towards martial arts and kick-boxing. Our major achievement from this
activity was that some girls developed an abiding interest in kick-boxing and
are continuing with their interest even after the completion of the program.
· On the Occasion of Women’s Day on March 8, 2022 a Human chain was
formed jointly by the students of GCG Nacholi and GCW. Almost 500 students held
each other’s hand in solidarity with all women of the community, giving out a
strong message that each one was to be the others strength and not weakness. A
strong message was goven to the students that highlighted the various
challenges before women of today, and how, their inner resilience and
conviction in their own capabilities had opened up many fields of enterprise
and entrepreneurship.
Sports
Sports is an integral part of
our life. It enables the students to not only gain skills and knowledge about
various sports but also helps them to learn the importance of having a healthy
mind and body. Our college students are very sport centric and their active
participation in our sports day is a testimony to that fact.
· It gives me immense joy to inform you that almost 1/3rd of
college’s strength participates in various sporting events every year. So much
so that multiple rounds of heats often need to be conducted per event. This
year too the sports day saw a participation of 150 students in 11 events spread
over 2 days. Anchal Nagar of BAII was declared the best athlete.
· Anchal Nagar and Savita Nagar both from BAII have been a part of
Cricket legend Vijay Yadav’s academy. They have also brought laurels to our
college by winning the District Level Women Sports meet in 400 metres and 200
metres race respectively.
The Placement Cell of the college is in its
nascent years. The first batch of the college has just passed out and now with
the next batch this cell has started engaging with the students to help them
learn wide ranging skills necessary to meet the real-world challenges.
· In its first endavour the cell arranged for a public speaking
discourse for the students so that they can acquire the necessary communication
skills much needed in today’s competitive world. Sh. Jyoti Sangi renowned Poet
and artist conducted a 2 day online workshop to train the students on 25

program we reward the meritorious students of all classes with free textbooks
and study material. This program was started in the academic session 20-21 and
has continued thereafter. A book-bank was later floated with the books
purchased and now, in addition to the meritorious students, financially weak
students are also provided free books for the whole year. I am extremely proud
of my staff for their enthusiastic and generous contributions towards making
Medhavi a very successful campaign.
