INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2020

The staff and students of Government College for Girls, Nacholi, Faridabad celebrated the 74th Independence Day with great fervour and pride through various social media platforms.
The Principal, Dr. Sunidhi, in her message to the students, told them to always remember and honour the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters, without which we could not have seen the light of the day. Paying homage to those who laid down their lives to provide us with the beautiful gift of autonomy, liberty, equality based on humanity & dignity, she asked the students to always work to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.
She also informed the students that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a clarion call for a ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and it was the responsibility of every student to play an affirmative role in achieving this dream. The Principal exhorted the students to empower themselves with wide ranging knowledge and skills to become independent and self-reliant and thus add to the country’s Human Resources, much needed for an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. She said that the energy and the ambition of the youth can definitely bolster the Atmanirbhar campaign.
The celebrations were marked with students participating in various activities like tree plantation, poetry recitation, essay writing and patriotic songs recital over social media network. The students also posted their entries on the official WhatsApp group of their respective classes. An online quiz on Atmanirbhar Bharat was prepared by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Department of Commerce, and the students of all classes attempted the quiz with zeal.
The collective efforts of Dr. Sushil Verma, Dr. Dinesh Joon, Dr. S.S.Gulia, Ms. Shalini Tuli, Ms. Mamta Bhardwaj and Dr. Rakesh Kumar to reach out to the students and inspire them to participate in the Independence Day Celebrations saw huge participation from the students, making the day a memorable one.
The Principal, Dr. Sunidhi, congratulated the college fraternity for the successful organization of the Independence Day celebrations. She said that despite the COVID-19 restrictions, the spirit and the enthusiasm to celebrate the Day showed everyone’s commitment and love for the nation.
